In The Ground

Plants went in the ground Monday.  I put more bean seeds in the starter trays because I have a lot of room to fill...LOL!

Green and Yellow Beans

Pumpkins

Honeydew Melons

Zucchini

Tomatoes

Carnival Color Bell Peppers

Lots of empty space...LOL

We are getting ready for DH to ride to North Carolina next week with his Suzuki group.  He lost interest in work last week and stayed home for 3 days...LOL...meaning I got nothing accomplished.  DD is working through the weekend and on Monday.  It is beginning to look like I may get something crafty done again, soon, maybe. I think I will try to get some Brussels Sprout seeds in the starter trays if it stays dry for an hour.

Have a great day!

Update for Help

I am asking for some help, today.  If anyone can send these Marines a Care Package it would be wonderful.  These guys are really in need of anything from candy to baby wipes and anything else you can think of to raise their morale!  I know none of us have as much as we would like, but I know these guys have even less.  Please support our troops and help me with this project.  I will be making a trip to the Dollar stores tomorrow with our weekend "eating out" money. Here is the information:

GySgt Cassidy James A
MWSS 272 / AFOPS / EAF
UNIT 77151
FPO AE 09510-7151

Here is a site with a list of what they really need.

Thank You!

UPDATE:

I couldn't wait for tomorrow to shop...LOL!  We have a friend at USMC Headquarters in D.C. that told us the Gunny would give out anything sent to him to the guys that never get packages from home.  It broke my heart thinking about it and I went right out and here is what I brought home for them...

DD made a card to put in this box and is getting together with her friends to write letters weekly.  She is mad because she has to work in the morning and can't go with me to the Post Office...LOL!

Again, Thank You for reading!

Garden Coming Soon

This is what the garden looked like last Friday.

Ohio's nice wet Spring!

This is what it looks like after five days of no rain and three days of tilling every afternoon.

I should be able to get something in the ground by Monday, if we don't get much rain over the weekend.  I am so excited to be getting closer to planting!

Happy Crafting!

Girl's Scrub & Guy's Scrub

Saturday morning I was feeling the need to dig in the front flowerbed.  It is nothing but mud. Mud, Mud, and more Mud!  I was a mess and so were my nails.  I decided to make a new jar of hand scrub.  Last week I bought a bottle of the Lavender scented Dawn dish soap.  I mixed some soap and sugar together into a runny paste. Presto! Fancy hand scrub!  I decorated a cheez whiz jar (perfect size for everything) and I get a hand spa treatment any time I want.

DH sees this scrub taking spray paint off my fingers (whole other mess I might post about LOL) and asks if I will make him some that doesn't smell Girly!  So, I mixed the sugar and regular, blue, no girly smelling Dawn into an undecorated salsa jar.  He is happy as pie and no smelly stuff touches him...LOL!

Table Runner Progress

I have been working on a matching table runner to the coasters.  I was on a cutting spree and I have to do something with all the squares.  I took time from it over the weekend and yesterday, so today back to the creative grindstone.

This was what it looked like Friday.

Today, sewn and up for me to stare at it.

What am I going to back and bind it with?

Well, amongst all the rest of my To Do lists, this is still sitting here and I have lost all creativity at the sound of an ice cream cake container opening!

16 hr Ice Cream Cake Carnage

I better hurry before they don't save me any!  Happy Crafting!

Napkin Upcycle

I have been toting seven ugly red cloth napkins around the country for a very, very long time.  They showed themselves again while I was looking for some other fabric.
 Enough is enough.

I found this cute fabric coaster tutorial a while ago and I knew these napkins were about to change!

I found some old coordinating prints and the ugly tomato of pins.

A little piecing and pinning and the machine was off and running!

Much better!

Playing in Dirt

I read this post about terrariums this morning and left a comment about my black thumb with houseplants.  She was kind enough to send me some words of encouragement.  She told me to start with pretty weeds.  What a fabulous idea!  Weeds grow in the worst of conditions, I should be able to handle that!  I grabbed a couple jars and cut quick circles of scrap fabric.  I had short pieces of edging lace and ribbon, and after 5 minutes on the machine...Voila!!!!!

The tall jar is a little less crowded.

It is also perfect for holding a few pins in another room, instead of ugly little tomatoes lying around.

Now it's just a matter of watching them grow...hopefully!
