No Coffee Cans!

While Hubby was away a couple weeks ago, I spray painted a half dozen coffee cans to plant flowers in for the deck.

"No way are you making the deck look like a recycling hippie heaven!", mutters Hubby. So, he took me out to buy new pots, flowers, soil, and enough mulch to finish my blueberry bed.

Thanks, Hubby, it does look better than the coffee cans.

Visions of May

As days are getting longer, so have my lists of things to do. We have started this season with the attitude of "Get rid of it, Fix it, Use it" for everything in our house. It is going to be a long process, but it has begun with 10 garbage bags of clothes and linens being dropped of to Volunteers of America. They are close, convenient and my favorite local thrift store. (Hubby told us we can't buy back our things if we see them there...LOL) We have cleaned out about half of the garage and Hubby even suggested painting it one color instead of the 4 random colors it is now. I think he may be getting into the groove of this project! My garden is going by the wayside this year for a few reasons, give the soil a break and let it rejuvenate itself, my time is being utilized in other places around our home, and the major one is a badminton net was found in a closet corner and magically appeared in the middle of the garden outline while I was at the grocery one Saturday morning. One other part of my summer will be having an informal Bible and book study from here with the young women that like to come over and hang out with my daughter.
So, with no further ado, here are some visions of my last month or so...

Spray painting is good for the soul...

Volunteer lettuce, randomly poking it's head out...

More spray painting, I really love spray paint!

Moved the blueberries and made them a nice new bed...

Homemade weedkiller working after just 3 hours!

Our first outside dinner of the season...

Grilled pineapple on charcoal is the best!

Smooth homemade pasta sauce courtesy of my new blender...

 2 lap blankets finished...

 A backyard waiting for fun!

Blessings and Happy June!

Fabulous Prizes, Painting, Stash Buster and the Garden

Here are the pics of the prizes that were here when I came home!
This came from Janet at I Heart My Glue Gun, it is hanging above our vanity as a great reminder for each day.

This bag was from Alaundra at create., I took it to the Styx concert and it held our blanket, water, wallets, purse stuff, cellphones and concert crap without straining it's seams!

These magnets and pins are from Jamie at Day & Age Design. They have helped me start organizing the fridge door!

I painted the chairs, but we are still deciding which of the two colors to paint the table. In the meantime, I found a tablecloth and a couple matching bucket candles at the dollar store.

I cut some fish and bubbles out of this flannel and then let DD play with sewing them on a pillow front. She had fun and it got her a little more familiar with the machine. She prefers hand sewing. I finished it up and she is using it as a book rest as I type...LOL!

This groundhog, affectionately named "Paulie", is trying to put on his winter weight in the garden.
Coming out of his grocery store...
Bok choy before...
Bok choy after...

Happily I had cut about half the bok choy the day before, so we did get to enjoy some of it...LOL!

How was everyone else's week?
