Bible Blanket (Book of Esther)

I wanted a tangible record of my accountability while I read through the Bible with Good Morning Girls. Marking each book read on a sheet of paper is fun and all, but easily mislaid and pushed aside. A large basket of yarn needing my attention kills two birds with one stone as I work on my personal Proverbs 31 Woman life change. I am "wasting not" any of the yarns and fabrics Hubby let's me buy. What better way to see and show my commitment to reading the bible each day than to make an afghan with my yarn (hoard) stash. As we finish a book, I will add two rows to the blanket. It will be a fun way to see how far I am getting in this goal, and will be warm on my lap by time the temperature drops here in central Ohio.

Blessings!

This is so awesome! What a great visual reminder and such a good use of your stash. I have tons of fabric that just seems to find its way into our home too... but with two little kids it's sometimes hard to sit down at the sewing machine for long periods of time. But I'm working on it!

Great idea! That's a really good way to mark it! I may have to try that with quilting. Maybe a block for each book we finish?

That's a great idea. I have one I need to finish I think I'll get it out.
