Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful sight this morning.

Charity Harvest
I gave one cabbage and a few zucchini to a friend and gave the rest along with a huge bag of zucchini to a christian food pantry around the corner.
The rain we have had almost everyday has been good for some of the garden, but the chinese cabbage was sitting in standing water for 3 days and got root rot. I pulled them out and left their space open for the cantaloupes to get more sunshine.
I have two gallon size bags of broccoli in the freezer and and I am still cutting bunches once a week.
I spied a pumpkin about 2 inches in diameter hiding under a zucchini leaf! The beans are climbing their poles and seem to be doing well. All in all it is doing very well this year and the smaller plot is more manageable for me.

Evening Song
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth to grow that which is sown in it: so the Lord God will cause righteousness to grow, and praise before all the heathen. Isaiah 61:11
Have a blessed week!

Arrival of My Arch Nemesis!!!
This evening I happened to look out my kitchen window, while getting a much needed glass of water (Just Dance with my daughter), and guess who has shown up?
Paulie the Groundhog!
Heading to the shed when he hears my snarl of dismay!
And pops right out the other side to much some weeds.
With peals of laughter, my family declares, "Let the Games Begin!"
If you click the groundhog label, you will be able to see him when he first showed up with two other siblings. They didn't stick around for long, but Paulie loves it here.
A groundhogs life span is 6 to 8 years, but ones as well fed as ours can live 14 years. He loves sweet potatoes and bok choy. The bok choy is already in (he must have smelled it) and Hubby said we will go find him some sweet potato vines this weekend. Nothing like planting the garden for EVERYONE!

Morning Baking
A little aromatherapy this morning with a basic Apple Coffee Cake. I added a pinch of cinnamon, ground cloves, and nutmeg to the batter and some rolled oats to the topping. This is a great starter recipe that happily takes all the experimenting you can think up.
Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning, Mushrooms!
This cute little mushroom village greeted me this morning, from my kitchen window.
I just had to snap a pic!

Saturday Dinner
A beautiful 4.78 lb. pork shoulder roast from Schuman's Meats. I'm trying a Red Fork brand cooking sauce they had on a shelf. It smells marvelous!
This easy dinner will give me more time in the garden today.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Garden!!!
Tilled and planted! I was just too tired to take pictures yesterday, so here's the garden in early morning. Pole beans, eggplant, broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, tomatoes, bell pepper, cantaloupe, and zucchini. I might plant spinach in a couple days when it stops raining.
I also planted a few herbs in containers and Hubby wanted to try strawberries again. The squirrels enjoyed them immensely last time we tried to grow them.
The blueberries managed to survive the winter and the squirrels digging around them, so hopefully we will see a few berries this year. the electric company cut down our pine trees and I think the blueberries will benefit from it.
Now that I have the outside well on it's way, back to the crochet hooks.
Happy Spring!

Finished in time!
While waiting in the dentist office, I was swatching a stitch pattern. The office manager smiled and said, "That would make a cute baby blanket!", as she rubbed her extending tummy. I presented it to her the next Monday. She is due in just a few weeks.

Bible Blanket (update)
After a couple intense books ( Genesis, Exodus) and an intense Ohio winter, I am happy to have 24 rows finished. This has turned out to be an exercise in patience. I have more of a sense of empathy for the long journey without seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. It was difficult to read what sometimes comes off as chaotic stereo instructions, but as I hunkered down and stuck with it, I realized God had to be very specific because these people had strayed so far from his instructions. It really was like having young children.
